Napa, Napa County
The city of Napa sits at the southern end of the Napa Valley, which stretches about thirty miles north to Calistoga. The valley became the first wine region in California to receive federal recognition, in 1981, five years after its wines beat French rivals at a famous tasting in Paris. A vintage dining train makes a daily round trip from Napa to St. Helena.
